The Quantum Technologies Flagship is the EU’s long-term research and innovation initiative in quantum technologies.
Launched in 2018, it aims to support Europe’s scientific excellence and industrial leadership over at least ten years, with funding of around one billion euro. It consists of a coherent set of research and innovation projects selected through a thorough peer-review process. More than 5000 researchers across Europe and associated countries have been part of this flagship initiative.
The Flagship supports projects in four main application areas – quantum communication, quantum computing, quantum simulation, and quantum sensing & metrology – as well as in enabling technologies and cross-cutting activities such as education, standardisation and outreach.
