EuroTPC establishes a clear and actionable framework to ensure that European perspectives are effectively represented in strategic decisions within the international Trillion Parameter Consortium.
By enabling coordinated European contributions to open, large-scale AI models, including all the data, evaluation and infrastructure around them, EuroTPC supports the development of extreme-scale, state-of-the-art, trustworthy, and reliable AI for science aligned with European values, ultimately strengthening Europe’s digital autonomy and competitiveness.
The project also fosters stronger synergies between HPC and AI, supporting the optimisation of massive-scale AI models for critical scientific domains, including climate modelling, drug discovery, and industrial innovation.
EuroTPC facilitates deep collaboration between the experts from EuroHPC AI Factories, European supercomputing centers, scientific communities, SMEs and other entities, leveraging workshops, hackathons, and technical working groups, to ensure broad stakeholder engagement.
This project will further strengthen EU collaboration within the Trillion Parameter Consortium (TPC) initiative by establishing a TPC Office in Europe.
The main objectives of EuroTPC are:
- Establish and operate a TPC Office in Europe, making it the central hub for every TPC activity in Europe.
- Foster synergy between TPC and major European efforts in the global HPC-AI activity, making Advisory Boards diverse and maximising what is already there in the EU landscape.
- Support active participation of European actors in TPC technical and scientific activities, involving early- and mid-career scholars from a variety of backgrounds.
- Engage and mobilise a broad European HPC-AI ecosystem, including the private space via startups, SMEs and large companies, and bringing on board as many European Member States as possible.
- Develop a strategic foresight mechanism and a shared EuroTPC Roadmap, understanding the strengths of other stakeholders in Europe to help maximise their impact in TPC.
- Promote international collaboration and visibility, understanding the strengths of other TPC partners to help maximise their impact in the European ecosystem.
- Communicate, disseminate, and assess impact of European participation in TPC.
